Home Inventory App Tracker 2026: Prices, Status, Shutdowns

Every home inventory app I could verify, with its price, platforms, whether it films a room, and the date checked. Which ones shut down. Updated monthly.

6 min read

This tracker lists 20 active home inventory apps and 2 that have shut down, as of October 15, 2026. This page is the list: every home inventory app I could verify, with its price, platforms, whether it can film a room and list the items, and the date I checked. It is updated monthly, and the change log at the bottom says what moved. I make Manifest, which is one of the rows, so weigh that.

Why a tracker

Most roundups of home inventory apps are written once and left. Several still recommend Encircle, which shut down on December 17, 2025. Prices change a few times a year. The point of this page is to have one place where each fact has a date next to it. If a row looks wrong, the source for it is listed at the bottom; check it, and email support@manifestme.me if the source has changed.

It matters because an inventory only helps if it exists when you file a claim. In a 2023 consumer survey, 47 percent of homeowners said they had prepared an inventory of their possessions to help document losses.

Active apps

Prices are the published US prices; "Films a room?" says whether the app lists several items from a video of a room or from one photo of it. "Not listed" means the vendor's page does not say.

Which apps film a room and list what is in it

Two apps list items from a video: Manifest and MovingBox (Pro only). Four list several items from one photo of a room or shelf: SnapFind (Pro only), Under My Roof (iOS 27 only), Homvi and StuffID. Every other app in the table adds one item at a time, or the vendor's page does not say. Manifest's walkthrough clips run up to 90 seconds; the trial includes three, Vault three per calendar month, and Unlimited has no monthly cap. For how that works, see a home inventory app that scans a room.

Which apps are free

NAIC Home Inventory is free with no paid tier. micasa and HomeBox are open-source tools you run yourself rather than consumer apps, and neither lists a price. Several apps have a permanent free tier with a limit: Under My Roof is free up to 10 items, Home Contents up to 25 items and 1 property, Sortly 100 items and 1 user, and Hometric 1 home, 1 room and 5 AI photo analyses. HomeZada has a free Essentials plan, SnapFind a free tier with 23 of its 37 features, StuffID a free tier of 50 items, 2 spaces and 5 AI scans, and Retinelle and Homvi start free; Bevel's tools are free for disaster survivors. Itemtopia, HouseBook, Homer and MovingBox are free to download with paid upgrades. Manifest has a 7-day trial, not a free tier.

How this page is maintained

Each row is checked against the app's own App Store listing or pricing page, and the date of the check is in the row. The page is refreshed monthly; the change log records every edit to a price, platform or status. Nothing on this page comes from another roundup.
