Searching and filtering your inventory
Find anything fast with search and filters by category, location, tag, and more.
The inventory list has a search bar at the top and a set of filters you can combine to narrow things down.
Search
Type anything in the search bar to filter by name, brand, model, or other text fields. Results update as you type. Clear the bar to go back to everything.
Filters
Tap the filter icon (on mobile) or use the filter panel on the left (on desktop) to add filters. You can combine as many as you like.
Location — show only items in a specific room or storage area.
Category — show only items in a category (Electronics, Appliances, Furniture, etc.).
Tag — show only items with a specific tag.
Status — filter by warranty or return status:
- Active warranty
- Expiring soon
- No warranty
- Has recall
- Return window open
Active filters appear as chips below the search bar. Tap any chip to remove it.
Sort
Use the sort control to order results by newest, oldest, A → Z, Z → A, highest value, or lowest value. The selection persists between sessions.
Scan to find
The barcode icon in the search bar opens a live scanner. Point it at a product barcode or a Manifest QR label to jump straight to that item or location. See Scan to find something you already have.
Good to know
- Search and filters work together — you can search for "Sony" and filter by Electronics at the same time.
- Filter and sort state is saved, so it carries over when you leave and come back.
- Tags are managed in Settings. See Tags and categories.
