Scan to find something you already have

The barcode icon in the search bar opens a live scanner. Point it at a product and Manifest looks it up in your inventory — no typing needed.

How to use it

1. Go to your inventory list.
2. Tap the barcode icon in the search bar.
3. Point the camera at a barcode, UPC, or QR code and hold still for a moment.

Manifest reads the code automatically and acts on what it finds.

What happens next

• Single match — if exactly one item in your inventory matches, Manifest opens that item's detail.
• Multiple matches — if more than one item shares the same code, the search bar filters to all of them.
• No match — Manifest tells you nothing matched and offers to link the code to a box or add it as a new item.
• Manifest box QR — if you scan a box sticker you printed from Manifest (or a foreign sticker you linked), it opens the box view for that location.

Good to know

• This uses no AI and counts against no limit.
• It works with barcodes and serial numbers you logged on items, and with Manifest box QR codes.
• To scan a code into a form field (filling in a serial or UPC while adding an item), use the scanner in the ID Codes section instead. See Scan a barcode or serial number.
