Scan a receipt or PDF in the app

In the add or edit form, you can upload a receipt, invoice, or product manual — as a PDF or an image — and Manifest reads the purchase details out of it.

How to use it

1. Open the add form for an item (or open an existing item and tap edit).
2. In the document section, tap Upload a document and pick a PDF or image file.
3. Manifest sends it to AI. In a few seconds it fills in what it finds.
4. Review the pre-filled fields, fix anything that looks off, then save.

What gets filled in

• Name, brand, model, and category
• Serial number, UPC, and ISBN
• Purchase date and purchase price
• Warranty length, when the document states one explicitly

If the document contains more than one product line item (a store receipt with several products, for example), Manifest extracts each one as a separate draft item for you to confirm. A single document yields up to 10 line items.

PDF limits

PDFs up to 30 pages are accepted. If yours is longer, split it and upload the relevant pages. The overall file size limit is 8 MB.

Good to know

• Uploading a document uses one AI action.
• This is different from forwarding a receipt by email. Forwarding works from your inbox and lands items in a review queue automatically — see Forward a receipt and let Manifest read it. Uploading a document is done inside the add form and applies directly to the item you're working on.
• Warranty years are only extracted when the document explicitly states a duration. Manifest does not guess.
