Reviewing items that came in from email

Forwarded receipts arrive as drafts in your review queue. Here's how to confirm, fix, or discard them.

When a forwarded receipt lands in your account, Manifest reads it and creates a draft — a pre-filled item waiting for your sign-off. Nothing goes into your inventory until you confirm it.

Getting to your review queue

A prompt on the dashboard tells you how many drafts are waiting. Tap it to open the Review Imports screen. You can also find it through Alerts.

What you see per draft

Each draft shows the source receipt and what Manifest pulled out: name, brand, model, category, serial number, price, purchase date, warranty, and the return window for that retailer if one was found. Fields Manifest wasn't sure about are flagged so you know which ones to double-check before saving.

Your three options

  1. Edit and confirm — fix anything Manifest got wrong, assign a location, add a photo if you have one, then tap Save to Manifest. That moves it into your inventory.
  2. Merge with an existing item — if the receipt matches something already in your manifest (Manifest will suggest a match), you can update that item with the new receipt data instead of creating a duplicate. Only fields the existing item is missing get filled in.
  3. Discard — if the receipt isn't something you want to track, tap Discard. This permanently removes the draft.

Fixing what the AI misread

All fields are editable before you confirm. Tap into any field and type the correct value. If a barcode or serial number is printed on the item, use the camera icon in the ID Codes section to scan it rather than typing.

Good to know

  • Drafts do not count toward your inventory until confirmed.
  • A receipt that produced multiple items (like an order with several products) groups them so you review each one before any of them save.
  • Email ingestion is included on the trial and paid plans.
