AI actions: what counts against your limit

Most AI features draw from a shared monthly pool. Vault accounts get 15 actions per calendar month, resetting on the first. Trial and Unlimited accounts have no limit.

What uses an action

Each of these counts as one action:

Photo analysis (taking a photo and letting AI identify the item)
Room scan (photographing a shelf or room and pulling out multiple items)
Document or receipt scan (uploading a PDF or receipt for AI to read)
Email receipt (forwarding a receipt to your Manifest address for parsing)
Value estimate
Listing generation
Stock image lookup
Voice entry (describing an item out loud)
Support page lookup (finding the warranty or support page for an item)
CSV column mapping — when you import a spreadsheet, having AI match your columns to Manifest's fields uses an action

What does not use an action

Barcode and serial-number scanning does not draw from your pool. The scanner reads the code directly — it is not AI-metered regardless of your plan.

Failed actions

If an AI call fails after claiming an action, the action is refunded. You won't be charged for a request that didn't return a result.

Boosts

If you hit the Vault limit before the month resets, you can buy a one-time boost ($3.99) for unlimited actions over the next 14 days. Boosts are available from the Upgrade screen.

Good to know

The 15-action limit applies to Vault only. Trial and Unlimited accounts are not metered.
The pool resets by calendar month, not on a rolling 30-day window.
